How do you pronounce “Tepache”? Our street challenge in Venice Beach!

Los Angeles is a melting pot of cultures, languages, and food. With its diverse population, it's no wonder that the city is home to some of the most delicious and unique beverages around. One of those drinks is our De La Calle Tepache. Our fermented pineapple drink that has been enjoyed in Mexico for centuries. However, not many people outside of Mexico have heard of it, let alone know how to pronounce it. So, our team hit the streets of Los Angeles, specifically Venice Beach, to challenge locals and tourists to pronounce the word "Tepache."

As we walked around the boardwalk, we approached people from all walks of life, and it was interesting to see how they reacted to our challenge. Some people were hesitant and unsure of what to do, while others confidently stepped up to the plate. We even had a few people who were fluent in Spanish and knew exactly how to pronounce it, which was impressive!

The first attempts were interesting, to say the least. Some people said "teh-pah-chee," while others said "Te-pa-gue" Some even went for "ti-patch-ay." It was fascinating to hear the variations, but regardless of the pronunciation, everyone was excited to try it.

We handed out samples of De La Calle to everyone who participated, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. People loved the unique flavor, the fizziness, and the fact that it's a healthier alternative to soda.

As we continued to engage with people, we noticed that several people had never heard of Tepache before. We were thrilled to inform them about the drink, its history, and the fermentation process. We even shared a few cocktail recipes using Tepache, which sparked curiosity and interest in trying the drink. It was great to see how something as simple as a name could create a new experience for people.

After our little experiment, we gave our cans and encouraged people to find De La Calle on a shelf near them. You can find us as your local Target, Whole Foods and Amazon, and it's a great addition to any summer gathering or backyard BBQ.

Overall, our little adventure on Venice Beach was a success. We were able to introduce people to a delicious and unique beverage, and we had fun doing it. We also learned that there are many different ways to pronounce Tepache, but no matter how you say it, it's a drink that everyone should try. So go out and find it on a shelf near you, and give it a taste. You won't be disappointed!
